#166 A Case Study of the Use of EM in a Next Generation Free School in Tune with the Cycles of Nature

#166 A Case Study of the Use of EM in a Next Generation Free School in Tune with the Cycles of Nature
This year United Networks for Earth Environment (U-net), a certified NPO, launched the Universal Village Model Project with the goal of integrating EM activities even more into society. Five projects have been selected to receive 500,000 yen per project and are developing into more multi-dimensional projects than in the past. The results of these activities will be introduced in this series or in the online site DND (Digital New Deal).

Here I would like to introduce a case study of the use of EM at Grandmother, a general incorporated association in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, which promoted the FFC (Food for Children) Okinawa Forum 2021 mentioned in the 162nd article of this series.

This achievement is extremely impressive and has the potential to not only solve problems that children with developmental disabilities deal with, but also to open up new options for them in their lives. As we continue with these activities, the children will naturally become EM experts, and will discover ways to become indispensable members of society.

When children acquire the basics of living (Numbers 1 to 6 in Figure 1), they will become assets to society and play a pivotal role in creating a society with a high degree of happiness, as shown in Figure 2.

Although this is impossible in the current school education system, the next-generation free school based on a system of natural cycles is beginning to create a completely different and original model of human resource development, one much like a universal village.

I am convinced that, depending on their future activities, this will become the starting point for remedying education in Japan.
