What is BioCycle Center?
17 May 2024
Overview
EM Universal Village (UV) is a project undertaken by us the first and second phase of “Cleating a Village of Health and Welfare Utilizing Agriculture” promoted by the Kitanakagusuku Village in Okinawa. We aim to solve various social issues through EM technology and to create a model of a local community living in harmony with nature in cooperation with the local government.

About BioCycle Center
As of May 2024, the BioCycle Center is under construction, integrating biogas power generation, biostimulant manufacturing, and microbial cultivation. This facility will utilize food waste as renewable resources sourced from the region. We anticipate the opening of the BioCycle Center in April 2025.
About Biogas Power Generation of BioCycle Center, the energy (electricity) will be produced using methane fermentation of renewable resources (food waste) with a quantity of 1-2 tons. The electricity generated will be consumed on-site at the BioCycle Center and an ICT solar hydroponic cultivation facility, and can also be used as an emergency power source in times of disasters.
The use of EM Technology in all processes is expected to solve the problems of conventional biogas power generation, such as odor control and effective utilization of digested liquid.
At the *biostimulant manufacturing facility, an organic fertilizer will be produced by utilizing digestate, a byproduct of biogas power generation. We also plan to utilize renewable resources (food waste) and treated water to produce bokashi compost and liquid fertilizer. These fertilizers will be used on the model farm in the project and are also planned to be sold to local farmers in the area.
*A biostimulant is one of the agricultural materials and is described as any substance or microorganism applied to plants or soil to enhance their growth, nutrient uptake, stress tolerance, and overall health.
