On August 8, 2013 the City of Pag, in Croatia in collaboration with EM Tehnologija Rijeka d.o.o. has organized the second cleanup event applying EM mudballs.
August 8th is the World EM mudball Day and the City of Pag commemorated this day making and pumping EM mudballs. This is a continuous and successful project began last year aiming to cleanup and reduce the sludge of the coast. Last year about 12,000 of EM mudballs were thrown into the sea and resulted in improving the condition of the water, eliminating bad odor and controlling sludge.
This year, children and staff of the kindergarten along with officials of the City Pag and the deputy mayor participated in the event and pumped a total of 10,000 EM mudballs.
The goal of this project is to maintain the City of Pag clean to attract visitors and tourists as well as promote residents to take part of a preventive action in order to improve the quality of the sea water for a better marine life.
