PROBLEMS
-Before using EM Technology, they had invested a large amount of money to purchase materials for silage and additional fertilizers.
- Incidence rate of Mastitis disease was a high at 10%.
- Feed sometimes went out of stock because they could not produce a large amount of silage at once before.

EM APPLICATION
They have been using EM Technology since 2012, 5 years until today (2017).
They use EM・1, AEM (Activated EM・1) and BIOL (EM compost tea)
Method:
-Dairy Farming
AEM is sprayed to the entire dairy farm every week.
They also use AEM to make silage:
Corn is harvested from their own farmland, placed into silage pits and sprayed with AEM.
Silage pit is covered with plastic sheet for fermentation.
-Corn and Cotton Farming
They prepare BIOL (photo 1), a fermented solution made of liquid manure and AEM, and applied into the corn and cotton farm by irrigation.
They also use earthworms humus using manure previously processed with AEM and applied it into the cultivation fields (photo 2).
Feed made with corn is also sprayed with AEM before stocking in bags (photo 3).

EFFECTS AND RESULTS
1. By adding AEM into silage, grains become softer and easier to digest, so the fat content of the milk is kept stable during all year round. Market price of milk is determined depending on the fat content of the milk.
2. No chemicals are used in growing feeds. Only cow manure processed with AEM plus BIOL is used.
3. They do not need to add NPK anymore.
4. Yield of corn is 8 Ton/ha. It is the same as other farms that use chemical fertilizers.
5. Even they has to use some antibiotics to combat mastitis, incidence of mastitis in cows reduced from 10% to 3% in 10 years.
6. Compared to the use of chemical fertilizers in other farms, T.A. SAYURI is saving about USD100/ha.

COMMENTS FROM THE OWNER
"EM has given us the opportunity to recycle 100% of cow manure and produce our own natural feed.
So, now we are a self-sufficient company!"
