The EM volunteer group in Miyagi prefecture was spotted on a nationwide TV program last August 25.
The city of Kesennuma, a severely damaged area is facing bad odors problems as a result of the amount of sludge acumulated after the big tsunami struck on March.
One of the volunteers explains the good effects of EM•1® eliminating bad odors by a fermentation and decomposition process of the sludge.
Kesennuma city is still dealing with land sinkage and flood problems that cause foul odors.
EM•1® was gradually applied since one month after the disaster and now will be used in large scale.
This project called "The EM Cleanup Mission" will continue for approximately one year and expect to use 100,000 tons of Activated EM•1®.
The municipality of Kesennuma city authorized the use of EM Technology™ under the land owner's consent.
